HAVEN Centered Wellness is an integrative care practice in Wilmington, North Carolina. Acupuncture and auricular acupuncture, therapeutic massage, manual lymphatic drainage massage, and the supporting practices of Chinese medicine, brought together to help your body come back into balance.
The space exhales with you. Every detail is chosen with you in mind. You are in charge of every part of this.
Care at HAVEN often begins with a conversation. For many people, that means a call before the first visit, so your practitioner can begin thinking about how to support you before you walk in.
In the room, your practitioner reads what your body is asking for. What it is holding. Where the system is out of balance. What it is responding to. Chinese medicine informs much of that reading. The forms of care your practitioner draws on come from both Chinese medicine and Western therapeutic traditions.
Most people are surprised by how restful it feels. Many fall asleep on the table. The needles are fine, sterile, and single-use. The work supports circulation, nervous system regulation, and the body's own capacity to heal.
Acupuncture is the foundation of much
of the work here.
The ear is a microcosm of the body, and all parts of the body can be accessed and treated through the ear. Stimulating these points can support nervous system function, digestion, respiration, and circulation. At HAVEN, auriculotherapy is used regularly for reproductive health, pain, and allergic response. It can appear within broader sessions, on its own, and through two specific treatments: ear seeds for nervous system support between sessions, and SAAT for alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).
Auricular acupuncture, also called auriculotherapy, works with acupuncture points on the ear.
Therapeutic massage is hands-on care for the places your body has been holding something.
The pressure and approach adjust to what you need that day, whether full body or targeted work on a specific area.
Light pressure, directional rhythm. It helps the lymphatic system move fluid the way it is meant to. You leave feeling lighter, not worked over. People come to HAVEN for manual lymphatic drainage after surgery, during a detox protocol, or to support chronic inflammation.
Manual lymphatic drainage massage (MLD)
Alongside these, your practitioner may send you home with something. Ear seeds to extend the work of a session. A qigong practice. Recommendations on food, sleep, or how you are moving through your day. Chinese herbal liniments where relevant.
Each of these is its own form of care, delivered by a trained practitioner. What integrates them at HAVEN is the care plan built around you and how your practitioners coordinate to support you.
People often say it feels better than a spa. The sensory care of a spa, the clinical depth of a practice, in the same room.
The space
What Haven Is
Every recommendation at HAVEN is a starting point, not a directive. Your practitioner will share the reasoning. You decide what is right for your body and your schedule. There is no pressure to follow a particular path, and no judgment if you choose a different one.
You are the driver. We are here to inform, support, and care.
HAVEN Centered Wellness is an integrative care practice in Wilmington, NC. The work draws on acupuncture and auricular acupuncture, therapeutic massage, manual lymphatic drainage massage, and the supporting practices of Chinese medicine, including ear seeds, qigong, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, and Chinese herbal liniments. The HAVEN treatment room is designed for the nervous system to settle. Heated tables, soft sheets, handmade raw silk lavender eye pillows, organic essential oils, and a wireless doorbell so you control your time on the table. People often say it feels better than a spa.
Acupuncture uses fine, sterile, single-use needles at specific points on the body to support balance, circulation, and the body's own capacity to heal. Auricular acupuncture works with acupuncture points on the ear, which is its own map of the body. Stimulating these points can support nervous system function, digestion, respiration, and circulation. At HAVEN, it is used regularly for reproductive health, pain, and allergic response. Therapeutic massage is hands-on work on muscle tension and soft tissue, with pressure that adjusts to what your body needs. Manual lymphatic drainage massage (MLD) uses light, directional pressure to support the lymphatic system in moving fluid, and is often used after surgery, during a detox protocol, or for chronic inflammation. These are separate services. What integrates them at HAVEN is your care plan, and how your practitioners coordinate across it.
Auricular acupuncture, also called auriculotherapy, is acupuncture on the ear. The ear has a system of acupuncture points connected to the rest of the body, and stimulating these points can support nervous system function, digestion, respiration, and circulation. Peer-reviewed research published in the National Library of Medicine documents its clinical applications. At HAVEN, auriculotherapy is used regularly for reproductive health, pain, and allergic response. It appears within broader sessions, on its own, and through two specific treatments: ear seeds for nervous system support between sessions, and SAAT for alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS).
Yes. HAVEN is the only practice in Wilmington offering the Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT), certified directly under Dr. Soliman. SAAT is used at HAVEN for alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) and mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS). The treatment involves a tiny semi-permanent needle placed in the ear and worn for three to four weeks. The next nearest certified provider is in Chapel Hill. More on SAAT and the conditions it treats is on What We Care For.
HAVEN Centered Wellness in Wilmington offers manual lymphatic drainage massage (MLD) for post-surgical recovery, lymphedema and lipedema management, chronic inflammation, and general support. Our manual lymphatic drainage practitioner is trained in the Vodder method.
Yes. HAVEN works as part of a broader care team. If you already have a practitioner you trust for something HAVEN offers, your practitioner will support that. HAVEN also has referral relationships with practitioners across Wilmington for the work that belongs outside our scope.
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin, closer to the size of a hair than to the kind of needles used for shots. Many people don't feel insertion at all. What you might feel is a brief sensation as the needle settles. A small prick, a sense of warmth, or a feeling of heaviness around the point. These sensations are normal and usually pass within a few seconds.
